7th Asia for Asia: Rock the Generarion

Over the past six years, the Asian business events market has achieved impressive growth of 133 percent, substantially outpacing global growth of just 19.9 percent over the same period. Building on this, research from the Union of International Associations (UIA) shows that Asia now occupies the top three positions of countries holding international meetings.

Recognised as a true growth driver and backed by strong government support, key markets such as China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and other AACVB members continue to accelerate their business events offerings and position themselves as top business events destinations.

The dynamism of the sector in Asia is evident in the growth of these individual markets, with the Chinese business events industry experiencing annual growth of 20 percent, the Korean government prioritizing business events in its ‘2013 Direction on Economic Policy’, and Thailand marking an important milestone in 2013 by welcoming more than one million business events visitors, among other examples.

Behind these impressive results is a new generation of business events leaders, making decisions that will shape the future of the industry.

The 7th Asia for Asia Summit is a high-level panel discussion encompassing these trends and the people behind them, taking into account current and emerging needs in Asia. The industry’s brightest young and emerging stars will address issues such as:

• Is the future trend applicable to Asian customers, and Asian needs?
• What are the real factors that influence decisions taken by young management in organizing an event?

What should business events professionals offer to attract clients from Asia?
